Family History

My years of raising beef began in a semi-adult way in 1968. My farming and ranching family started its first feeder cattle lot in 1968. I later ran the cattle portion of a finishing feed lot in Hagerman, New Mexico in 1974. I raised ranch cattle for my lifetime, and purchased the start of a registered herd of Black Angus, and Brangus in 2001. We have continued to improve the Angus and Brangus herd in numbers and breeding to provide you with the best quality meat available. Our children and grandchildren now help with the cattle care and processing so, your purchase is a personal family matter to us. We raise local grass-fed cattle with superior genetics, family grown and processed to assure you quality from the birth of each animal to the quality dining experience of your table. TLC is present in our day in and out care for the herd with each animal having a life time experience with our ranching family members.
What is Brangus beef?
The Brangus breed was developed to utilize the superior traits of the Angus cattle and the Brahman cattle in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The Brangus is a hardy and popular breed of beef cattle, that has the hardiness of the Brahman for Southern conditions but the improved beef qualities of the Angus. Animals eligible for registration as Brangus cattle are 5/8 Angus and 3/8 Brahman.
Availability
We have limited stock available at any given time. We will have approximately 40 head available in 2021, but they come to correct weights at different times. We sell beef on a first come first served basis. When we receive your deposit, we attach that to an available beef. If a beef is not available at that time, we will record your request and contact you when the next beef is available. We appreciate your business!

What to expect:
The impacts of COVID-19 have changed our world with challenges to acquire beef. Guaranties of quality and safe beef have been challenged unlike anything we have seen before. We have processed beef in the quantity of 12 to 20 per year for years, but are now committing many animals from our registered Angus herd to help bridge the gap for our clientele and new customers who are looking for quality, safety, and taste in their beef purchases.
We sell registered angus beef, Brangus beef, and process it with our own custom beef processing crew. This crew is overseen by Jim who has 45 years of processing meat with our local major store chains. The initial harvest is done by a local company that will start the cycle of harvest, inspection, USDA meat stamp, and hang for 7 days. We will pick up your beef and process it at that time. Cuts, processing, wrap, boxing, and freezing are handled by D & C Cattle Company, and our family, to assure you of quality.

The Deposit is non-refundable and lapses after 30 days of notification sent that the beef is ready for pickup.
The cost of the beef includes: the beef you purchase from us, the harvesting charge and refrigeration hanging fee, and the custom processing that D & C Cattle Company does for you. When you purchase beef from us, you are buying a (share) of the live animal, either a whole, half, quarter (split side), or smaller portions. We will help you along the way, so that the arrangements and instructions are carried out. The organ meats are also available.
Also, we will have shares of ground beef available throughout the year from some of our breeding stock that are removed from the cow herd. Please feel free to contact us about availability.
